Sun Damage

Sun damage to the skin is common in Australia because its citizens are exposed to massive amounts of ultraviolet radiation.

Sunbathing has given rise to a huge rise in skin cancers with 400,000 people a years being diagnosed.

Incidental sun damage also occurs as people with lighter skins are overexposed to the sun while working outside or simply travelling to and from their destinations.

This damage particularly increases with age and is most prominent in people with light, Asian and Mediterranean type skins.

Laser skin resurfacing helps eradicate a lot of this sun damage, giving the skin a better appearance and reducing the likelihood of it progressing to a more serious condition.

Areas treated are most often face, neck, shoulders, chest, décolletage, back, arms and hands but other parts of the body can be treated as well.
