Hair Removal

Just imagine the convenience of not having to wax, pluck again or having to undergo extensive electrolysis to produce hair reduction. Now, how wonderful will that be? The IPL laser hair removal method shoots a tiny beam of pure light down the melanin in the hair to the hair bulb which destroys the hair bulb but preserves the surrounding skin. The procedure is as simple as that and when it is repeated at different sessions the whole area of skin no longer produces those unsightly hairs. Hair is reduced dramatically and in most cases eliminated. The system we use has a chilled cooling applicator on the head of the machine that helps you to be more comfortable during the process.

You cannot pluck or wax between treatments but you can shave or use a depilation cream if you cannot get back exactly on time for your next treatment.

People with light skin and dark hair get the fastest results but people with other skins and hair colour, including dark skin may also be treated over a slightly longer period. The time between varies according to what part of the body and the hair that is being eliminated since different hair grows at different rates in different areas. The hair simply falls out a few days after treatment and the rate and strength of regrowth diminishes dramatically over the time of the treatment.

Laser hair elimination generally takes 6-8 treatments 3 to 4 weeks apart.

Photorejuvention Skin Renewal & Fine Line Reduction

52-years-old

As the skin gets older it slows down the production of new skin, getting tired, therefore it does not repair or renew with the exuberance of youth. Not only does skin take longer to repair and renew but it also loses its structural integrity as the production of collagen and elastin decreases. With the face being the only place on the body where the skin is attached to the muscles, the face begins to drop and wrinkles form.

Laser photrejuvention awakens the skin again and massively stimulates its production of collagen and elastin, firming and toning the face and reducing wrinkles. The face looks much fuller and youthful with reduction in nasal labial folds and forehead wrinkles. Other areas of the body can also benefit as the laser treatment helps resurface the tops layer of the skin, giving a younger, smoother, more alive look. We are also trained as nutritionists, in herbal medicine, stress management and can add naturopathic approaches to these treatments. Laser treatment coupled with our microdermabrasion and non-surgical facelift treatments can take up to 20 years off some people's appearance without sugery.

Phtorejuvenation is generally carried out through 3 to 6 treatments with intervals of 21 days between treatments. After that if you wanted, you could have it once a month, just to pump up the face.

Red (Spider) Veins Elimination

Red spider veins are known as Telangiectasia and occur where there is clear indication that some of the tiny vessels on the surface of the skin are no longer working well and blood is trapped in them. This can be very unsightly and embarrassing for the person because they develop an uncontrollable ruddy completion. When left untreated these veins simply continue to spread.

This condition is most often seen in people with light skins, particularly people of Celtic origin but can occur in mid-range colour skins. It can be due to over-exposure to the sun, heat or certain medications, stress, autoimmune diseases, nutritional deficiency, or can be inherited. Over-use of alcohol also starts onset by causing a B vitamin deficiency so the texture of the vessels are not so strong and people lose some of their ability to regulate their body temperatures. Menopause is another time of onset for this disorder when women suffer from sweats and overheating as oestrogen and progesterone levels drop.

Laser treatment help cauterise these veins and eradicate them so the skin returns more to a normal colour. A series of treatments carried out with short intervals in between quickly deals with the problem in a very short period of time. We also recommend vitamins and herbal support to help the texture of the blood vessels improve.

Acne

Acne is a skin condition where the build-up of sebum in the hair follicle fails to escape from the pores of the skin. This causes plugs and the sebum builds up, causing a whitehead, blackhead, pimples and often an infection. Acne is often the result of a skin condition where the top layer of the skin fails to shed, so the build-up of dead skin blocks the pores and the skin is unable to exude sebum.

In studies, up to 90 per cent of people treated for acne with laser experience a marked reduction in skin lesions. This treatment is suitable for both adults and teenagers when acne is usually at its worst. When we combine this with microdermabrasion, nutritional counseling and supplementation, and herbs, the recovery from acne is remarkable both on the face and on other areas of the body.

Scar Reduction

General and acne scarring can be very distressing for people who may have active acne, recovering from acne or having had some kind of skin damage. The damage to the skin by eruption of acne can cause long-term disfigurment to the skin's surface, creating an uneven and bumpy surface. Other skin damage can also leave the skin looking very unsightly. Using laser resurfacing along with microdermabrasion we are able to resurface the skin and greatly improve its texture and appearance.

Rosacea

This is skin condition is generally in adults where the skin appears to have lesions and reddening of the skin which is a kind of flushing. It is particularly common in middle aged women of Celtic origin and can also appear in men. It is thought to be due to the Dermodex mite and is commonly affected by daily hormone changes causing the person to be over sensitive to sunlight.

Laser treatment successfully reduces the reddening of the skin and helps control the infected lesions in the majority of people with some people reacting faster to the treatment than others but all can benefit. We also prescribe nutritional and herbal supplements to help control the condition which can virtually be eliminated.

Sun Damage

Sun damage to the skin is common in Australia because its citizens are exposed to massive amounts of ultraviolet radiation. Sunbathing has given rise to a huge rise in skin cancers with 400,000 people a years being diagnosed. Incidental sun damage also occurs as people with lighter skins are overexposed to the sun while working outside or simply travelling to and from their destinations. This damage particularly increases with age and is most prominent in people with light, Asian and Mediterranean type skins.

Laser skin resurfacing helps eradicate a lot of this sun damage, giving the skin a better appearance and reducing the likelihood of it progressing to a more serious condition. Areas treated are most often face, neck, shoulders, chest, décolletage, back, arms and hands but other parts of the body can be treated as well.

Melasma

Melasma (also known as chloasma or the mask of pregnancy when present in pregnant women) is a tan or dark facial skin discoloration. Although it can affect anyone, melasma is particularly common in women, especially pregnant women and those who are taking oral contraceptives or hormone replacement therapy (HRT) medications. It is also prevalent in men and women of Native American descent (on the forearms) and in men and women of German/Russian Jewish descent (on the face). IPL laser helps reduce the hyper-pigmentation over a series of treatments so that the skin can return to its normal colour.
