What
is microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion
is a revolutionary skin resurfacing technique that can benefit people
of all ages. It helps eradicate and reduce fine lines, scarring, acne
potholes, and sun damage.
You
can see the results after the very first session as the skin looks smoother
and the collagen producing cells in the dermis are stimulated, making
the skin fuller and more elastic.
How
is it different to a chemical peel?
This
treatment is superior to chemical peels because chemical peels only strip
off the top stratum corneum of the skin (layer) and they still leave the
skin uneven. Microdermabrasion blasts the skin with miniscule stone crystals
which planes and smooths the skin down to an even surface. At the same
time, it is stimulating new blood flow in the dermis, encouraging lymphatic
drainage and collagen and elastin production.
There
are no chemicals involved with this process as it is purely mechanical,
therefore making it suitable for all skin types. We chose the microdermabrasion
process to use in the clinic because it is a more natural way of tricking
the skin into producing new skin growth, giving your face a younger, fuller,
smoother, firmer look.
Can
microdermabrasion be used on other parts of the body?
Yes, it can also be carried out the hands or chest to reduce sun spots
and aged wrinkling. Again, with these parts of the body, initial treatment
needs to be followed up by maintenance.
Can
I combine it with other procedures?
More mature clients can benefit from having microdermabrasion carried
out alongside the non-surgical facelift so
that the results can be doubly as rewarding. According to the skin type,
we may recommend anything from 6 to 12 sessions with a possible monthly
maintenance program to allow you to look your very best. Microdermabrasion
is often used in conjunction with non-surgical facelift, which tones and
lifts the face muscles.
